Environmental Policy 2006

 

SWWTP is a partnership formally constituted in April 2002 as a not for profit company.  We work with tourism operators from the private, public and voluntary sectors to achieve the region’s strategic aims under the principles of quality, sustainability, partnership and improved competitiveness to ensure that tourism makes a better contribution to the social and economic prosperity of, not only the region, but Wales in general.  

The company recognises its obligation to comply with all relevant environmental legislation and the intention of this policy is to confirm our commitment to maintain operational standards with the following main objectives
•    To satisfy and comply with current legislation
•    To help protect the environment
•    To prevent pollution
•    To promote good public relations
•    To satisfy customer demand
•    To save money

We will attempt to
•    Always have all electrical operational machines turned off when not in use (never on standby)
•    Always use low energy light bulbs where appropriate
•    Always recycle all office paper (including junk mail etc.), use double –sided copying where appropriate and use ‘opposite sides’ for message taking and scrap
•    Always recycle all glass and cans
•    Not use plastic, throw away, cups for drink dispensing machine
•    Use heating/hot water on timer as appropriate to weather conditions
•    Recycle (via local charity) all copier/printer cartridges
•    Review this policy periodically ie every 6mths
•    Communicate policy (and any changes) to all staff and interested parties
